Our Story
A Legacy of Music
Music has always been at the heart of my family. In the 1960s, my father was a prominent pianist who played for many celebrity summer acts in Great Yarmouth. One of my earliest memories is of him taking me to the local music shop, where a sign hanging on the door read, “Gone Chopin, Bach in a minuet.”
Growing Up with Music
From a young age, music shaped my life. At primary school, I was already reading music, experimenting with the piano, cornet, and percussion instruments. Watching my father play the piano with such passion and fluidity left a lasting impression on me. Even as I later joined London Transport, music remained my constant companion. My free time was spent presenting at a local radio station and composing my own songs late into the night.
A Turning Point
Before I began my career as an Instrumental Sync Composer, my father spent his final years in a care home battling dementia. It was heart-breaking to see him lose recognition of his past, including his own family. The music I created from that moment forward focused on instrumental melodies designed to promote positive mental health. This was a reminder of how precious our minds truly are, especially in the face of illness.
Supporting Mental Health Through Music
At Instrumentals Club, we are deeply committed to supporting organisations Here at Instrumentals Club we are proud to support the great works of charities like Dementia UK, the Alzheimer’s Society and Nordoff and Robbins – The UK’s largest music therapy charity. My mission is to make Instrumental music accessible to care homes, waiting rooms, therapy centres and aid dementia patients. To protect and promote the wellbeing of mental health for all ages.
The Growth of Instrumentals Club
A Creative Journey
In 2015, I launched my musical project, Instrumentals Club, recording, producing, and mastering several original albums. My tracks span a wide range of genres, including Blues, Country, Celtic, Folk, Jazz, LATAM, Oriental, Electronic, Futuristic, and Classical.
Sync Licensing Breakthrough
In 2016, I partnered with Chicago Music Library, where I secured my first sync licensing placement with the film Good After Bad. Unfortunately, the library closed in 2020, but by then, my music had already started to make an impact.
Building an Audience
By 2022, my music reached 1.5 million streams on Spotify. With the support of my family, we launched the Instrumentals Club YouTube Channel in the summer of 2023. Our first music video, Havana Holiday, quickly gained traction. Today, the channel boasts over 2.5 million views, 77K+ subscribers, and more than 43K hours of watch time, offering viewers a calming and positive experience for their mental wellbeing.
